What is the Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA)?

The Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA) is designed to make it easier for students to transfer from community colleges to four-year colleges and universities in Michigan. The agreement provides for transfer-ability of up to 30 credits to meet many general education requirements at the four-year institutions. By fulfilling the Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA), students meet the general education requirements at a community college and make significant progress toward, and sometimes completely fulfill, the general education requirements at a Michigan four-year institution. **Note**: The most recent university transfer guides are available in the Counseling and Student Development Office, Prahl College Center 2030, SLBC, Clio, Lapeer and on the [MCC web site][1].
